Whore Of Babylon: Who Is She And What It Means

Whore of Babylon Whore of Babylon

The Whore of Babylon is not the Catholic Church. She is identified as the capital of the country which holds the reins of the Beast who gets its power from Babylon The Great.

The Whore of Babylon is the capital of Israel, Jerusalem, which is, also, the capital of the world, from God’s point of view. This article has nothing to do with antisemitism, only with the Bible references that indicate that God refers to the Jews as a woman which should have shown a wife’s fidelity:

My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them.
(
Jeremiah 31:32)

The Whore of Babylon controls Babylon the Great

The characters of this scene are the Beast, Babylon the Great and the Whore of Babylon (riding the Beast).

The image of a person riding an animal is one which shows power: the individual riding on the animal’s back controls the animal, constantly adjusting the direction. It’s the same thing with the Whore of Babylon: she rides the Beast. I quote the biblical text, Chapter 17 from the Book of Revelation, and one of the most important verses is the last one (in red):

So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement. But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.

Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.

And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.”

Bible verses which show that Jerusalem is the Whore of Babylon

THE PROOF? Regarding this matter, we have two Bible verses which link the Old Testament two the New Testament. In the Book of Revelation, the Whore of Babylon is judged:

Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her.
(
Revelation 18:6)

And in the Book of Isaiah, Jerusalem is after its judgment, after it has paid for the works described in the Book of Revelation:

Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.
(
Isaiah 40:2)

The city that will be punished double of its sins is Jerusalem. The Scriptures tells us that Jerusalem will be destroyed in the last days and Messiah will descend from the sky to save a small group of Jews so the Jewish people are not eradicated, and this is because of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob:

As I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy, and to afflict, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the Lord.
(
Jeremiah 31:28)

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
(
Jeremiah 31:33)

I will get into much detail about the (coming) fall of Jerusalem in a future article.

God compares Jerusalem to a harlot

I will quote only a few verses, but the whole Chapter 16 from The Book of Ezekiel is depicting Jerusalem as a woman which becomes a harlot:

Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations, and say: “Your fame went out among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through My splendor which I had bestowed on you,” says the Lord God. But you trusted in your own beauty, played the harlot because of your fame, and poured out your harlotry on everyone passing by who would have it.
Now then, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord!
(Ezekiel 16:2-)

The power triad of Revelation 17

The kings of the earth give their power to the Beast. The Beast does not pass it on, but it permits the Whore to have control over its route because the Whore has power over the kings of the earth.

These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.
(
Revelation 17:13)

How can this be, to ride the Beast, but not rule it? Let’s take it slowly: A gives his power to B, B has C on its back and B allows C to ride because B has power over A. It is like a power triad, a triangle of destruction.

This is exactly what happens in the world today, the Jews control the world, but not through a geopolitical empire that they own. There is no Jewish Empire, the Jews barely have a piece of land near the Mediterranean, but they control the world, that is no secret. With this article, I do not want to feed any antisemitic feelings, I just want to show that the Bible prophecies come to pass right before our eyes.

The distinction between Babylon and Babylon the Great

The system of this world is “Babylon the Great”, Jerusalem is “Babylon, the great city”. Jerusalem is called in The Book of Revelation “the great city”, capital of the world. Sometimes, because of its depravity, it is also called “Sodom, the great city”:

And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
(Revelation 11:8)

We all know that our Lord, Jesus Christ, was crucified in Jerusalem.

Isn’t Jerusalem the capital of the world today? Think again. Forget Silicon Valley, Jerusalem is the centre of the tech-world: LINK HERE.

The Babylon and Babylon the Great are connected, they will both fall at the same time, meaning when Jerusalem falls, the whole system falls:

The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’ And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore.
(Revelation 18:9-11)

The distinction between Babylon the Great and the Beast

Babylon the Great is made up of all the kings of the Earth, the leaders of each and every country. The heads of the Beast which rises from the bottomless pit are, actually, only a group of kings. So Babylon the Great gives its power to a group of kings and over them is Jerusalem.

The heads of the Beast are a group of kings, each head is a king. The heads rule one after another:

Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time.
(Revelation 17:9-10)

As I said, the heads rule one after another, they are consequential and the last one that will come will rule for a short period of time. BUT the horns rule at the same time (simultaneous):

The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.
(Revelation 17:12)

The horns will rule together for one hour, they share their authority for a short time. We do not know how much is one hour in biblical time, but if we apply the day-year principle from the Book of Daniel, an hour is two real weeks: twelve months in a year, for weeks in each month, twenty-four hours in a day, an hour is two weeks. It is just an interpretation, we do not have His clock and we have never found a Bible verse to 100% confirm it, so we will call this paragraph just a supposition.

The important thing is, the claim that Jerusalem is the Whore of Babylon has been proved. You can, also, look for the signs of the times.
